Calmore Sports’ Sara Yasin and Sam Moss have been nominated as Finalists in The Cricketer’s “Pride of Cricket” awards.

Sara has been nominated for the Young Hero award for her work in promoting cricket for all through the Southampton-based ‘Wicketz’ programme while Sam has also been nominated for his work in developing community cricket with ‘Wicketz’ in the Community Hero category, which recognises outstanding work in promoting the game in the community, furthering cricket’s reach and introducing new individuals and groups to the sport.

‘Wicketz’ is a community cricket programme, funded by Lord’s Taverners, targeting areas of deprivation, high population and urban communities.  The programme is aimed at girls and boys aged between 8 and 19 and seeks to provide weekly cricket opportunities, alongside themed life-skill workshops designed to help young people gain understanding, qualifications and improve their lives.  The programme has reached over 100 young people across the city every week.
