Calmore Sports’ very own Keith ‘Woody’ Woodhall has completed the monumental challenge of cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats across just nine days to raise money for the Walsall and District Samaritans, a charity very dear to his and his mother’s heart.

Woody, who has been in training for this incredible feat for many months – as club members would have witnessed as he arrived at Loperwood Park with his cycling shorts – pounded the tarmac for the 979 miles alongside friends Peter Couch, Scott Pattison and Dean Massey.

Now home, and nursing “a sore arse”, Woody has raised nearly £1,000 for the charity.

The Walsall Samaritans branch is entirely run by trained unpaid volunteers and has to raise its own funds to cover running costs and Woody’s mum Juliet has been a volunteer for over 20 years so it is a charity very close to his heart.

And you can still donate to celebrate Woody’s amazing achievement by going to https://www.everyclick.com/keithscyclingchallenge – let’s get him much nearer to his £3,000 target!

As he said himself on his Facebook post on completing the ride, “I would highly recommend it to anyone out there who is a sandwich sort of a picnic …..”

Woody, Calmore Sports Club salutes you!
