To extend the tradition started back in 2010, Calmore Sports’ overseas player Ben Moss became the fifth recipient of the “Baggy Green” prior to the opening day of the 2016 season at Loperwood Park.

18-year-old Australian Ben, following in a long line of players to come to the club from Melbourne-based Brunswick Cricket Club, was awarded his Calmore Sports Club cap from club Chairman Pete Lavelle.

Michael Wallace, in 2010, was the first Calmore overseas player to be awarded the green cap and he was followed by South African Pierre Kriel and the Aussie duo of Brenton Allan and Josh Holden.

On a day of notable presentations made by the Chairman, he said “We were delighted to present Ben with his Calmore Floppy Green and welcome him to the club and hope he enjoys his time with us.”

He will certainly be hoping that this ‘Baggy Green’ will not be his last headwear of this familiar style to all Antipodeans he receives.
