Calmore Sports Club are not letting the autumn leaves stick under its feet in its bid to continue to momentum of winning the British Gas Southern Premier League Division 2 title in 2016.

Mark Lavelle’s team lifted the title and secured promotion into Division 1 – becoming the area’s highest ranked club – but plans are already being made to strengthen throughout the club and we are on the lookout for new players to match the club’s ambition.

We are looking for players throughout the club, with hopes that the Second XI aim for promotion from Hampshire Division Three South and the third and fourth XIs progress upwards in the Regional North-West leagues.

Club captain Mark Lavelle said: “After a successful year for the first XI and progressive seasons for the 2s, 3s and 4s, we are looking to strengthen all the sides to move Calmore Sports Club forward and add to the quality we already have within the club.

“Our aspirations are to be challenging for the top honours across all our teams. We have the basis of quality, hard-working and experienced players, together with some excellent youngsters coming through the ranks and already making their mark.

“But we are also seeking players who can help us achieve our goals and relish playing a very good standard of cricket.

“If you are interested in a new challenge or are seeking a new club, then we are more than happy to offer you the place to play and enjoy your game, whatever the level you wish to play.  We are a young club, looking to build on previous successes and take the club to the next level.”
